We arrived at Auckland on Good Friday around 9pm. We spent Saturday around the city, and Sunday around Takapuna.
Auckland (Saturday)
Albert Park is an interesting park located above the Art Gallery in Auckland, and contains some interesting artefacts, one of which is a floral clock.
Some amazing brightly coloured flowers (so bright they over-saturated the sensors of my camera!)
This is the Throwback Sculpture, with the Band Rotunda behind it.
This is the former tunnel entrance and the Gateway Sculpture.
After that, we took a walk towards the Harbour around Quay St. This is the Ferry Building on Queens Wharf.
Near the Maritime Museum is the New Zealand Big Boat KZ1, launched on 27 March 1988 to compete in the 27th America’s Cup.
Here are some more scenes from Viaduct Basin.
A view of the Sky Tower, taken from Market Place near the Viaduct Harbour.
Takapuna (Sunday)
On Sunday, we were picked up by Vic James from Red Carpet Tours and stayed at a hotel in the northern suburb of Takapuna.
This is the Pumphouse located on the shores of Lake Pupuke.

Some black swans on the water.
And finally, here is the view of Auckland city skyline from the north shore.
